A Message from Our Founder
Hello, my name is Brandon Goodfellow, founder of Horsepower Haven.
Horsepower Haven was born from something deeply personal to me — the belief that the right person, at the right time, can change the direction of a young man's life.
I've travelled down my share of wrong roads. When I look back at my younger years, I often wonder how different my path might have been if I had a place like Horsepower Haven — somewhere I could have worked with my hands, learned practical skills, been surrounded by positive influences, and had strong mentors willing to invest their time in me.
That reflection became a calling.
I knew there was a need in our community, and I believed it was a need I could help fill — not on my own, but alongside others who share the same heart for young men and their futures.
Today, I am incredibly grateful to be surrounded by a group of godly mentors who believe, as I do, that every young man deserves someone in his corner. Through authentic relationships, hands-on mechanical education, faith, accountability and service, we have an opportunity to meet young men where they are and help them discover where they are capable of going.
HPH isn't about creating perfect young men. It's about walking alongside them as they build confidence, character, responsibility, resilience and purpose. It's about giving them a place to belong, people they can trust, and skills they can carry with them long after they leave our shop.
And we are only getting started.
My hope is to see Horsepower Haven grow far beyond what we can accomplish today, reaching more young men, welcoming more mentors and becoming a lasting source of hope and opportunity in our community.
We cannot do that alone.
It will take the generosity, support, encouragement and prayers of a community that believes investing in young people is one of the most meaningful investments we can make.
I know what can happen when a young man takes a wrong road.
Horsepower Haven exists to help him see that there is always another road he can choose.
I invite you to join us on this journey — as a mentor, supporter, partner, volunteer, donor or simply someone willing to keep our young men in your prayers.
Together, we have an opportunity to change the direction of a young man's life — and in doing so, make our community and our world a little better.
